Exodus 6

Good morning y’all. Today we are working at Exodus 6.

Be blessed as you read 🙂

In the previous chapter Moses was asking God why the children of Israel were suffering all the more after he and Aaron had gone to Pharaoh to deliver God’s message.

In this chapter we see God respond to Moses’ inquiry. God started by reiterating the fact that Pharaoh will definitely let the people go.

“But the Lord said to Moses, “Now you shall see what I will do to Pharaoh; for with a strong hand he will send them out, and with a strong hand he will drive them out of his land.” (Exodus 6:1 ESV)

God didn’t stop there…He gave Moses a personal message for the children of Israel. God was concerned about them and wanted to reassure them that He had not forgotten the promise he made to their ancestors. He will definitely deliver them and bring them into their promised land.

Moses delivered the message to the children of Israel but they were discouraged and broken in spirit so much that they couldn’t accept or believe the word of God. The pain was too much and they just couldn’t see a way out.

“Therefore, say to the people of Israel: ‘I am the lord . I will free you from your oppression and will rescue you from your slavery in Egypt. I will redeem you with a powerful arm and great acts of judgment. I will claim you as my own people, and I will be your God. Then you will know that I am the Lord your God who has freed you from your oppression in Egypt. I will bring you into the land I swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. I will give it to you as your very own possession. I am the Lord !’” So Moses told the people of Israel what the Lord had said, but they refused to listen anymore. They had become too discouraged by the brutality of their slavery”. (Exodus 6:6-9 NLT)

Perhaps you are feeling discouraged today just like the children of Israel were. I’m reminding you that God is concerned about you. He knows how you feel and, like He promised the children of Israel, He will deliver you and rescue you from whatever situation in your life that is threatening to overwhelm you. He will lead you out and bring you into your promised land. Don’t give up: He is working on your behalf. Be encouraged 🙂

In Isaiah 43 He gave this promise:
“1 But now the Lord who created you, O Israel, says: Don’t be afraid, for I have ransomed you; I have called you by name; you are mine. 2 When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up—the flames will not consume you. 3 For I am the Lord your God, your Savior, the Holy One of Israel”. (Isaiah 43: 1-3 TLB)

That is God’s promise to you today. The situation you are in will not overwhelm you. He who is the Lord God Almighty will step into your situation and deliver you.

I am reminded of the lyrics of the song, ‘Stand’ by Donnie McClurkin

“Tell me what do you do when you’ve done all you can
And it seems like you can’t make it through?
Child, you just stand, you just stand, stand
Don’t you dare give up through the storm,
Stand through the rain
Through the hurt,
Yeah, through the pain
Don’t you bow, and don’t you bend
Don’t give up, no, don’t give in
Hold on,
Just be strong,
God will step in
And it won’t be long
After you’ve done all you can, after you’ve done all you can
After you’ve gone through the hurt,
After you’ve gone through the pain
After you’ve gone through the storm,
After you’ve gone through the rain
Prayed and cried,
Prayed and cried
Prayed and cried
Prayed and cried, oh my
After you’ve done all you can you just stand”

I will end with the words from 1 Peter 5:10
“And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you”.(1 Peter 5:10 ESV)

Prayer:
Dear Lord we thank You for today. We thank You for reminding us You are the Lord with whom nothing is difficult to do. We ask for grace to endure and stand through the storms of life. We pray You will strengthen our faith in You and help as many that are discouraged now; Holy Spirit comfort and encourage them. Thank You Lord. In Jesus’ Name we pray. Amen.

Thanks for joining today.

Have a blessed day 🙂

It’s a Love Affair

I thought I’d share them with you guys :). I have copied the verses and highlighted in bold my favourites 🙂

Isaiah 43:1-21 (TLB)

1 But now the Lord who created you, O Israel, says: Don’t be afraid, for I have ransomed you; I have called you by name; you are mine. 2 When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up—the flames will not consume you. 3 For I am the Lord your God, your Savior, the Holy One of Israel. I gave Egypt and Ethiopia and Seba to Cyrus[a] in exchange for your freedom, as your ransom. 4 Others died that you might live; I traded their lives for yours because you are precious to me and honored, and I love you.

5 Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. I will gather you from east and west, 6 from north and south. I will bring my sons and daughters back to Israel from the farthest corners of the earth. 7 All who claim me as their God will come, for I have made them for my glory; I created them. 8 Bring them back to me—blind as they are and deaf when I call (although they see and hear!).

9 Gather the nations together! Which of all their idols ever has foretold such things? Which can predict a single day ahead? Where are the witnesses of anything they said? If there are no witnesses, then they must confess that only God can prophesy.

10 But I have witnesses, O Israel, says the Lord! You are my witnesses and my servants, chosen to know and to believe me and to understand that I alone am God. There is no other God; there never was and never will be. 11 I am the Lord, and there is no other Savior. 12 Whenever you have thrown away your idols, I have shown you my power. With one word I have saved you. You have seen me do it; you are my witnesses that it is true.13 From eternity to eternity I am God. No one can oppose what I do.

14 The Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, says: For your sakes I will send an invading army against Babylon that will walk in, almost unscathed. The boasts of the Babylonians will turn to cries of fear. 15 I am the Lord, your Holy One, Israel’s Creator and King. 16 I am the Lord, who opened a way through the waters, making a path right through the sea. 17 I called forth the mighty army of Egypt with all its chariots and horses, to lie beneath the waves, dead, their lives snuffed out like candlewicks.

18 But forget all that—it is nothing compared to what I’m going to do! 19 For I’m going to do a brand-new thing. See, I have already begun! Don’t you see it? I will make a road through the wilderness of the world for my people to go home, and create rivers for them in the desert!20 The wild animals in the fields will thank me, the jackals and ostriches too, for giving them water in the wilderness, yes, springs in the desert, so that my people, my chosen ones, can be refreshed. 21 I have made Israel for myself, and these my people will some day honor me before the world.

Have a wonderful day and remember you are precious, honored and loved by God :)…its a LOVE Affair 🙂
