Numbers 8 – Love and Obedience…

Good morning y’all. Today’s blog is on Numbers chapter 8.

As I read through the chapter, obedience was what came to mind. I guess its because God has been dealing with me on this issue of obedience.

I’m learning to obey Him completely and not partially even when it hurts to do so (oh it could be very painful.. ๐Ÿ™‚ thank God for grace…) .  I’m also seeing that God likes to pay attention to details and He likes things to be done the way He has instructed and not how I think it should be done.

God doesn’t leave room for assumption. He tells us plainly and clearly how He wants things to be done. If we are unsure, it’s better to go back to Him and ask for clarification rather than assume.

For example in verse 1-3, God tells Moses to tell Aaron where to put the lamps and in what position it should face.

“The Lord said to Moses,  โ€œGive Aaron the following instructions: When you set up the seven lamps in the lampstand, place them so their light shines forward in front of the lampstand.โ€  So Aaron did this. He set up the seven lamps so they reflected their light forward, just as the Lord had commanded Moses”  (Num 8:1-3 NLT)

Aaron could have said to himself…” I’ll put the lamps on the lampstands but I don’t think God would really care if it’s facing the right position or not”. Thank God he didn’t take that approach as there’s no telling what would have happened to him had he done that… I guess the fear of God came upon him after watching his two sons die in the presence of God due to their carelessness to obey instruction.

God instructs Moses and Aaron and the children of Israel on what needs to be done in order for the Levites to be dedicated to Him. They all obeyed and followed God’s instruction. They didn’t try to cut corners or look for easy way round. Doing it God’s way must have been more important to them than doing it their way.

“So Moses, Aaron, and the whole community of Israel dedicated the Levites, carefully following all the Lordโ€™s instructions to Moses”. (Num 8:20 NLT)

How much value do we place on obedience to God’s instruction? Do we feel we can do it however we like or do we pay attention to details to ensure its done correctly.

God is a God of attention and order. He doesn’t leave anything out at all. He pays attention even to the littlest thing we consider irrelevant.

As we go about our day today, let’s ponder on our obedience. Lets ask for forgiveness in the areas where we have fallen short and ask for grace to love God more because when we love Him, we will obey Him unconditionally.

Thanks for joining today. Pls feel free to share your thots on the chapter.

Numbers 7 – Worthy offering…

Good evening y’all. I’m still catching up on the backlog of blogs I have missed out on ๐Ÿ™‚ . This blog is on Numbers chapter 7. Chapter 8 will be following shortly ๐Ÿ™‚

Be blessed ๐Ÿ™‚

Then the leaders of Israel, the heads of their fathersโ€™ houses, who were the leaders of the tribes and over those who were numbered, made an offering.  And they brought their offering before the Lord, six covered carts and twelve oxen, a cart for every two of the leaders, and for each one an ox; and they presented them before the tabernacle”. (Numbers 7: 2-3 NKJV)

The leaders of the tribes brought their offering and sacrifices to the house of the Lord. When we come into God’s presence do we come empty handed or do we come with an offering worthy to be presented to our King? Is God pleased with what we bring before Him? God was pleased with the sacrifices and offering that was brought to His house by the leaders of Israel.

Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,  โ€œAccept these from them, that they may be used in doing the work of the tabernacle of meeting; and you shall give them to the Levites, to every man according to his service.โ€ (Numbers 7: 4-5 NKJV)

Let’s think and ponder on the kind of offerings and sacrifices we bring before God.

Moses had to go into the tabernacle anytime He wanted to hear from God. Ain’t we glad we don’t have to go to a designated physical place to seek and hear from God. GOD is here with us now. He is our EMMANUEL. We can approach Him anywhere anytime any day! All thanks to Jesus for going to the cross for us

Eph 3: 12 says “In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence” and Eph 2:18 says “For through him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father”.

What are you doing with this free access? Are you making the most of it. Are you constantly communing with God or are you waiting till Sunday when you are within the four walls of a church to communicate with God. GOD IS HERE NOW. READY TO SPEAK AND LISTEN TO US. HALLELUJAH!!!

Thanks for joining today. Pls feel free to share your thots on the chapter.
