Good day everyone and welcome to another day of blogging through the bible
Today we look at Proverbs chapter 2

Let’s start with verse 1 & 2 in TPT translation
“My child, will you treasure my wisdom? Then, and only then, will you acquire it. And only if you accept my advice and hide it within will you succeed. So, train your heart to listen when I speak and open your spirit wide to expand your discernment— then pass it on to your sons and daughters. (Prov 2:1-2 TPT)
In these verses the phrase, “hide it within” caught my attention. It got me wondering if I can say that the level of the word of God I have inside of me corresponds to the level of success I will have in life. Hiding it within means it’s in our heart, dictating and guiding the things we do, and the choices and decisions we make.
Train your heart to listen when God speaks. it’s an ongoing work in the heart and not a one-time thing. There are so many things competing for the attention of our heart, therefore we are admonished to train it and tune it to hear Him so that it’s always focused on God. God is always speaking; the question is are we opening up our heart and spirit to hear and respond in obedience?
Then pass it on to your sons and daughters… This is legacy!!! Let’s take a moment to reflect and ask ourselves: what legacy am I leaving behind for my children and those coming after me? Are my actions providing a positive example them? Is my life pointing them to Christ or away from Him?
I’m going to jump to Verses 6- 11. I have to admit these verses were it for me today. It almost felt like I had never read Proverbs Chapter 2 before 😊
“6 Wisdom is a gift from a generous God, and every word he speaks is full of revelation and becomes a fountain of understanding within you. 7-8 For the Lord has a hidden storehouse of wisdom made accessible to his godly ones. He becomes your personal bodyguard as you follow his ways, protecting and guarding you as you choose what is right.9 Then you will discover all that is just, proper, and fair, and be empowered to make the right decisions as you walk into your destiny. 10 When wisdom wins your heart and revelation breaks in; true pleasure enters your soul. 11 If you choose to follow good counsel; divine design will watch over you and understanding will protect you from making poor choices”. (Prov. 1:6-11 TPT)
Wisdom is a gift from a generous God. This is so true, and we see James reiterating this in James 1: 5
5 If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. (NLT)
Every word from God is full of revelation. Revelation is simply you having light or knowledge about something that was previously unknown or kept secret. This means the WORD of God brings light to us. John 1:1 tells us that Jesus is the WORD and in John 1:4 that He is the light that shines in darkness and darkness cannot comprehend it. When we engage God’s word, it becomes a fountain of understanding within us.
The Lord has a hidden storehouse full of wisdom!!! Like what!!!! Did I just read that 😊 Look, whenever you need wisdom or revelation, you can always go to God and be sure He has the answers and is ever ready to share His wisdom with you. The starting point is you seeking Him for wisdom in the first place.
He becomes your personal bodyguard…Imagine having God as your personal bodyguard!!! Well as long you follow His ways and heed to wisdom you can be rest assured that He is your bodyguard: watching and guiding your every step and move as you choose what is right.
Today is another opportunity to respond to wisdom’s call. Are you ready to heed?
I pray we all make the right choice and heed the call of wisdom.
