Proverbs 18 – Safety in the tower

Good day everyone, and welcome back to another time of blogging through the book of Proverbs! 😊 First, let me apologize for the break last week—thank you for your patience.

Today we’re diving into Proverbs 18, and while this chapter is packed with wisdom, I’ll be focusing on verse 10:

I love this verse because it reminds me of the incredible power in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Philippians 2: 9-11 tells us that God has given Him a name above every name, and that at the mention of His name every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that He is Lord. The name of Jesus is not just an ordinary name—it carries power. It is a name that heals, saves, delivers, and brings peace. All we need to do is call on His name.

But here’s something important: for the name of Jesus to truly work in your life, you need a relationship with Him. Think of it like this—being connected to an influential parent or a well-known figure can open doors for you because of the relationship. In the same way, having a relationship with God allows you to access the power in His name. That’s why the verse says “the godly” run to Him and are safe—not just anyone.

So, if you’re weary, burdened, or in need of help, run to Jesus. His arms are always open to receive you, and there is safety in Him. Jesus Himself invites us in Matthew 11:28–30:

This doesn’t mean life will be challenge-free, but it does mean you’ll have peace and assurance knowing you’re not walking alone—God is with you, guiding and strengthening you.

So today, if you haven’t yet turned to Him, make that choice. Call on the name of Jesus, and He will save you. There is safety, strength, and hope in His name.

Thanks for joining me today 😊 and if this post encouraged you, share it with someone else who might need the reminder that there is safety in the name of Jesus. Together, let’s keep running to Him—He is our strong tower.
