Genesis 8

Good morning y’all.  Happy sunday!!!

Today we continue our study of Genesis. We in chapter 8. Noah and all in the boat were kept safe during the flood. Flood ended and God instructed them to leave the boat so they can start afresh. God made a promise to not destroy the earth again.

Be blessed πŸ™‚

God turned his attention to Noah! Wow that’s pretty awesome! Just to know that the creator of the universe, the one who holds it all in his hands will actually turn his attention to us. That He will remember us. That he will make time for us, to listen and communicate with us. For me it’s just amazing. The psalmist says what is man that you are mindful of him…

Psalm 8:4-5 AMP:
“What is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of [earthborn] man that You care for him? Yet You have made him but a little lower than God [or heavenly beings], and You have crowned him with glory and honor.”

If God turned his attention to Noah and all on the boat,  He can and will do the same for us too. Be encouraged πŸ™‚

Not only did he turn his attention to them, He made the elements to work in their favour.V 2 and 3 tells of how God caused the wind to blow and the flood waters began to go down…..I pray God will cause everything around us to begin to work in our favour.

Noah didn’t leave the boat until he was instructed by God to do so even though he knew the earth was dry seeing as the dove didn’t come back when he sent it out the 3rd time. Don’t run ahead of God. Let’s wait for his guidance and direction. Prov 3: 5-6 tells us to not lean on our own understanding but in all our ways to acknowledge God and he will direct our path.

Proverbs 3:5-6 CEVUS06:

“With all your heart you must trust the Lord and not your own judgment.  Always let him lead you, and he will clear the road for you to follow.”

After Noah and all left the boat, he offered burnt offering to God. This I believed he did to thank God for safety during the flood and for a fresh beginning.  God was delighted in  the offering and vowed never to destroy all living things again. Are we grateful and thankful for all that God does for us or do we thank it for granted. Let’s offer thanks to God. Scripture says we should give thanks to God for this is his will.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 NLT : “Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

Prayer
Dear Lord we thank you for today. We thank you for your breath in us. Thank you for the many wonderful things you have blessed us with. Today we pray that you will turn your attention towards us, that you would cause everything around us to work in our favour. Pls give us a grateful and thankful heart. We love you Lord. In Jesus Name. Amen

Thank you for joining.

Have a blessed Sunday and remember to be thankful and grateful today.

Genesis 7

Good morning y’all.

Today we in Genesis 7 we continue the story of Noah and the flood.

Be blessed πŸ™‚

S – Scripture

Genesis 7:5 NLT : So Noah did everything as the lord commanded him.

O – Observations

O1) Noah was fully obedient to God’s instruction- God gave him instructions on what and who needs to be in the boat. V 5 says and Noah did as the Lord commanded. He didn’t deviate one bit from it. Partial obedience is not the same as obedience. God demands total obedience from us. We see in the life of King Saul how partial obedience cost him the throne. What is God asking of us?. Let’s choose with the help of the holy spirit to obey fully. Isaiah says if we are willing and obedient we will eat of the fruit of the land.

O2) God is faithful to his word. He told Noah of what was gonna happen. And Indeed as he has said, it did happen. We can trust His word. If he says it, then he will surely do it.

O3) God kept his promise of keeping those in the boat safe. While the flood destroyed those who were outside, those in the boat floated to safety. God always watches out for us. Protection is one of the benefits we enjoy from God as a result of our obedience to him.

A – Application
A1 ) Be fully obedient to what God’s asking us to do.

A2) Trust God and His word. His word never fails.

P – Prayer
Dear Lord we thank you for today. Holy Spirit we ask you help us to obey God fully no matter how difficult or challenging the instruction might be. Help us trust you more knowing that you are faithful and can never fail. Thank you Lord. In Jesus Name. Amen

Thank you for joining today. Feel free to leave your thots on the chapter πŸ™‚

Have a wonderful Saturday. Remember,  God wants full obedience and not partial.
