Numbers 6 – Be ye Seperate….

Good morning y’all. Today we are studying numbers 6. Sorry it’s 2 days late. Been distracted lately but thank God for mercy, I’m back on track 🙂 . I will be posting another blog on chapter 7 and 8 in a bit.

Be blessed 🙂

God calls us to a life of worship. This more than anything means we have to seperate ourselves unto Him for His service and live a life of holiness. We have to get rid of anything that will contaminate us, for He who has called us His holy.

“But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy. For the Scriptures say, “You must be holy because I am holy.”
(1 Peter 1:15-16 NLT)

Serving God can’t be on our own terms. It has to be done on Gods terms. When we decide to serve God we can’t just give any service unto Him. It has to be a genuine one that’s coming from us wholeheartedly.

The Nazirite vow wasn’t forced on everyone,  but if you choose to do it, then you have to fulfil it completely. You can’t start and then stop. God gave specific instructions on the Nazirite vow that would be acceptable by him. It’s the same with us we can’t just bring any form of sacrifice or worship to God, it has to be one that will be acceptable by Him.

Jesus in John 4:23 – 24 says “.. The Father is looking for those who will worship him that way.  For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.”( NLT)

Romans 12:1 says “And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him”. (NLT)

I pray the Holy Spirit will help us live a life of total seperation unto God; that our service will be acceptable in His sight. In Jesus’ Name … Amen

I will end with the blessing in verses 24 – 26
May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace.’
(Numbers 6:24-26 NLT)

Proverbs 13 – Control your lil member

Good evening y’all. Today we are continuing our study of proverbs. We are in chapter 13.

Verse 3 just did it for me today. Again telling us about our tongue and our words

Be Blessed 🙂

“3 Self-control means controlling the tongue! A quick retort can ruin everything. ( Proverbs 13: 3 TLB)

This verse links back to what we have been discussing regarding words from chapter 10, 11 and 12. Self control is one of the fruits of the spirit and very crucial for us as Christians. Our tongue as small as it is, can do a lot of damage.  Basically think before you speak!!!

Proverbs says a man without self control is like a city without walls. This means if you lack self control any thing goes. You will find yourself constantly open to attacks and falling for anything.

A man without self-control
is like a city broken into and left without walls”. (Proverbs 25: 28 ESV)

A true test of our self control is how well we can control our tongue; restrain our lips from talking when it shouldn’t speak; learning to keep our mouth shut. When we talk without thinking about the impact of our words, we could potentially ruin relationships with other people and land ourselves in trouble. A lot of relationships have been destroyed due to words that have been exchanged. It will pay to calm down, maybe even walk away from the situation and pray before uttering a response. (I am not yet here but this is what I desire daily 🙂 )

Our flesh on the other hand likes to jump up and quickly respond. It always wants to give a peace of our mind and at the end of the day we are left with nothing but broken relationships and lost opportunities.

I will remind us again of James chapter 3 in the TLB  and MSG version.

” 2 If anyone can control his tongue, it proves that he has perfect control over himself in every other way”.  (James 3: 2 TLB)

“A word out of your mouth may seem of no account, but it can accomplish nearly anything—or destroy it! It only takes a spark, remember, to set off a forest fire. A careless or wrongly placed word out of your mouth can do that. By our speech we can ruin the world, turn harmony to chaos, throw mud on a reputation, send the whole world up in smoke and go up in smoke with it, smoke right from the pit of hell. This is scary: You can tame a tiger, but you can’t tame a tongue—it’s never been done. The tongue runs wild, a wanton killer. With our tongues we bless God our Father; with the same tongues we curse the very men and women he made in his image. Curses and blessings out of the same mouth!” (James 3: 5-10 MSG)

Prayer:

Dear Lord we thank you for this day and for Your Word. Pls help us to guard my words whenever we say something. Pls don’t let us want to do evil or waste our time doing wrong with wicked people. Don’t let us even taste the good things they offer.Thank You Lord for In Jesus Name we have prayed. Amen.

Thanks for joining today. Feel free to share your thoughts on the chapter.

Have a blessed evening 🙂
