Numbers 11 – Is God’s hand too short….

God evening y’all. Today we are studying Numbers chapter 11.

Be blessed ๐Ÿ™‚

“Soon the people began to complain about their hardship, and the Lord heard everything they said. Then the Lord โ€™s anger blazed against them, and he sent a fire to rage among them, and he destroyed some of the people in the outskirts of the camp”….”Then the foreign rabble who were traveling with the Israelites began to crave the good things of Egypt. And the people of Israel also began to complain. โ€œOh, for some meat!โ€ they exclaimed”.
(Numbers 11:1, 4 NLT)

Complaining, grumbling and murmuring won’t get us anywhere. If at all anything they cause more damage than good.

The children of Israel started grumbling and moaning about their troubles and the Lord got angry and set fire to the outer edge of the camp. After that, they decided to follow the pattern of the foreigners around them. They saw the foreigners complain and they joined as well. In the end their complaining led to their death.

Complaining and moaning is a sign of ingratitude. The children of Israel were the same set of people that cried out to God for help when they were in Egypt, now after they have been delivered they are moaning about food.  They seemed to have forgotten all God had done for them.

Rather than grumble or complain, it’s better to pray about whatever it is that we’re agitated about. I once heard a preacher say, “…turn all your complaints into prayer…the amount of time we spend complaining could have been used praying about the issue”. Complaining doesn’t bring results, instead prayer does: therefore we are instructed in Phillipians 4:6 to pray rather than complain.

Scripture also says do all things without complaining and arguing (Phil 2:14).

I pray we learn to be thankful rather than complain and grumble.

Moses couldn’t comprehend how God was going to feed all the people with meat. His human mind just couldn’t conceive how this could be. At that point, he seemed to have forgotten how great and powerful God is.

But Moses responded to the Lord , โ€œThere are 600,000 foot soldiers here with me, and yet you say, โ€˜I will give them meat for a whole month!โ€™ Even if we butchered all our flocks and herds, would that satisfy them? Even if we caught all the fish in the sea, would that be enough?โ€
(Numbers 11:21-22 NLT)

How often do we find ourselves in a similar position like Moses where we are faced with a challenging situation and we begin to question in our minds whether God can actually fix the challenge?

I love God’s response to Moses in verse 23.
“The Lord said to Moses, Has the Lord’s hand (His ability and power) become short (thwarted and inadequate)? You shall see now whether My word shall come to pass for you or not”. (Numbers 11:23 AMP)

Is God’s hand to short that it can’t deliver you from your current situation? I want you to take this verse as God talking to you regards whatever challenge you may be facing right now. He is able to fix it. There is nothing too difficult for Him.

Luke 1:37 says with God all things are possible.

Jeremiah 32:17 says Ah Lord God thou hast made the heavens and the earth. Nothing is too difficult for thee.

And indeed in verse 31 God sent the meat to them. They had more than enough.

I’ve come to learn that with God its not for us to know how or when He will do it. Our job is to believe He can and will do it.

Today, remember the hand of your God is not too short to deliver you. GOD says I am the God of all flesh is there anything too hard for me? So take your challenges to Him and watch Him fix it for you.

Thanks for joining today. Pls feel free to share your thots on the chapter.

Have a blessed evening 😘

Numbers 8 – Love and Obedience…

Good morning y’all. Today’s blog is on Numbers chapter 8.

As I read through the chapter, obedience was what came to mind. I guess its because God has been dealing with me on this issue of obedience.

I’m learning to obey Him completely and not partially even when it hurts to do so (oh it could be very painful.. ๐Ÿ™‚ thank God for grace…) .  I’m also seeing that God likes to pay attention to details and He likes things to be done the way He has instructed and not how I think it should be done.

God doesn’t leave room for assumption. He tells us plainly and clearly how He wants things to be done. If we are unsure, it’s better to go back to Him and ask for clarification rather than assume.

For example in verse 1-3, God tells Moses to tell Aaron where to put the lamps and in what position it should face.

“The Lord said to Moses,  โ€œGive Aaron the following instructions: When you set up the seven lamps in the lampstand, place them so their light shines forward in front of the lampstand.โ€  So Aaron did this. He set up the seven lamps so they reflected their light forward, just as the Lord had commanded Moses”  (Num 8:1-3 NLT)

Aaron could have said to himself…” I’ll put the lamps on the lampstands but I don’t think God would really care if it’s facing the right position or not”. Thank God he didn’t take that approach as there’s no telling what would have happened to him had he done that… I guess the fear of God came upon him after watching his two sons die in the presence of God due to their carelessness to obey instruction.

God instructs Moses and Aaron and the children of Israel on what needs to be done in order for the Levites to be dedicated to Him. They all obeyed and followed God’s instruction. They didn’t try to cut corners or look for easy way round. Doing it God’s way must have been more important to them than doing it their way.

“So Moses, Aaron, and the whole community of Israel dedicated the Levites, carefully following all the Lordโ€™s instructions to Moses”. (Num 8:20 NLT)

How much value do we place on obedience to God’s instruction? Do we feel we can do it however we like or do we pay attention to details to ensure its done correctly.

God is a God of attention and order. He doesn’t leave anything out at all. He pays attention even to the littlest thing we consider irrelevant.

As we go about our day today, let’s ponder on our obedience. Lets ask for forgiveness in the areas where we have fallen short and ask for grace to love God more because when we love Him, we will obey Him unconditionally.

Thanks for joining today. Pls feel free to share your thots on the chapter.
