Proverbs 18 – Safety in the tower

Good day everyone, and welcome back to another time of blogging through the book of Proverbs! 😊 First, let me apologize for the break last week—thank you for your patience.

Today we’re diving into Proverbs 18, and while this chapter is packed with wisdom, I’ll be focusing on verse 10:

I love this verse because it reminds me of the incredible power in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Philippians 2: 9-11 tells us that God has given Him a name above every name, and that at the mention of His name every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that He is Lord. The name of Jesus is not just an ordinary name—it carries power. It is a name that heals, saves, delivers, and brings peace. All we need to do is call on His name.

But here’s something important: for the name of Jesus to truly work in your life, you need a relationship with Him. Think of it like this—being connected to an influential parent or a well-known figure can open doors for you because of the relationship. In the same way, having a relationship with God allows you to access the power in His name. That’s why the verse says ā€œthe godlyā€ run to Him and are safe—not just anyone.

So, if you’re weary, burdened, or in need of help, run to Jesus. His arms are always open to receive you, and there is safety in Him. Jesus Himself invites us in Matthew 11:28–30:

This doesn’t mean life will be challenge-free, but it does mean you’ll have peace and assurance knowing you’re not walking alone—God is with you, guiding and strengthening you.

So today, if you haven’t yet turned to Him, make that choice. Call on the name of Jesus, and He will save you. There is safety, strength, and hope in His name.

Thanks for joining me today 😊 and if this post encouraged you, share it with someone else who might need the reminder that there is safety in the name of Jesus. Together, let’s keep running to Him—He is our strong tower.

“Then the angel spoke to the women. ā€œDon’t be afraid!ā€ he said. ā€œI know you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead, just as he said would happen. Come, see where his body was lying. And now, go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and he is going ahead of you to Galilee. You will see him there. Remember what I have told you.ā€ (Matthew 28:5-7 NLT)

The phrase “Just as He said He would” was what caught my attention in those verses. Jesus had told His disciples that He would resurrect on the third day but it seemed like the disciple and women didn’t fully understand or believe Him. Hence when they went on the 3rd day, they were expecting to still see Him dead but instead they found an empty tomb because He had resurrected as He said He would. Hallelujah!!!! Jesus is aqlive and lives forever šŸ™‚

This made me ponder how often we doubt as well. God gives us a promise but it’s like we don’t fully believe He can do what He promised because in our own eyes it looks impossible but we must always remember that with God all things are possible (Luke 1:37).

Today, be hopeful that whatever promises God has given you, He will do just as He said. He can be trusted to do what He says. He is too faithful to deny Himself (2 Timothy 2:13). He watches over His word to perform it (Jeremiah 1:12). He is not a man that He should lie (Numbers 23:19). He said His word will not return to him void until it has accomplished what it was sent to do (IsaiahĀ 55:11)

Be encouraged, there is a dawning of a new day for you. Keep believing and trusting him knowing He is able to do what He has said he would do.
