Good day everyone, and welcome back to another time of blogging through the book of Proverbs! š First, let me apologize for the break last weekāthank you for your patience.
Today weāre diving into Proverbs 18, and while this chapter is packed with wisdom, Iāll be focusing on verse 10:

āThe name of the Lord is a strong fortress; the godly run to him and are safe.ā (Proverbs 18:10 NLT)
I love this verse because it reminds me of the incredible power in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Philippians 2: 9-11 tells us that God has given Him a name above every name, and that at the mention of His name every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that He is Lord. The name of Jesus is not just an ordinary nameāit carries power. It is a name that heals, saves, delivers, and brings peace. All we need to do is call on His name.
But hereās something important: for the name of Jesus to truly work in your life, you need a relationship with Him. Think of it like thisābeing connected to an influential parent or a well-known figure can open doors for you because of the relationship. In the same way, having a relationship with God allows you to access the power in His name. Thatās why the verse says āthe godlyā run to Him and are safeānot just anyone.
So, if youāre weary, burdened, or in need of help, run to Jesus. His arms are always open to receive you, and there is safety in Him. Jesus Himself invites us in Matthew 11:28ā30:
āAre you weary, carrying a heavy burden? Come to me. I will refresh your life, for I am your oasis. Simply join your life with mine. Learn my ways and youāll discover that Iām gentle, humble, easy to please. You will find refreshment and rest in me. For all that I require of you will be pleasant and easy to bear.ā (TPT)
This doesnāt mean life will be challenge-free, but it does mean youāll have peace and assurance knowing youāre not walking aloneāGod is with you, guiding and strengthening you.
So today, if you havenāt yet turned to Him, make that choice. Call on the name of Jesus, and He will save you. There is safety, strength, and hope in His name.
Thanks for joining me today š and if this post encouraged you, share it with someone else who might need the reminder that there is safety in the name of Jesus. Together, letās keep running to HimāHe is our strong tower.
