Proverbs 20 – What is filling your well?

Good day everyone, and welcome back to our journey through the book of Proverbs! 😊
Today we’re diving into Proverbs 20. I’ll be focusing on verses 5, 22, and 24. My prayer is that as we reflect together, God’s Word will bring encouragement, guidance, and fresh revelation for your daily walk.

🧭 Proverbs 20:5 (TPT)

You can only give what you carry inside. If your heart is filled with negativity or bitterness, that’s what will flow out. But if you are full of God’s wisdom and truth, then what you give to others will be life-giving.

An empty well can’t refresh anyone. That’s why it’s so important to fill ourselves daily with God’s Word. When we do, we’ll always have a rich reservoir to draw from—ready to encourage, guide, and bless others.

šŸ’– Proverbs 20:22 (TPT)

I love this reminder to let God handle vengeance. Our natural instinct is to react when wronged, but this verse urges us to respond with grace.

When we show mercy to others, even when it feels undeserved, we leave room for God to act on our behalf. Choosing kindness over retaliation is not weakness; it’s strength rooted in trust.

Today, let’s make a choice: instead of responding in anger, let’s respond in love. Extend mercy, and watch God fight our battles for us.

🌿 Proverbs 20:24 (TPT)

What a comforting truth—God is in charge of our lives. Yes, it’s wise to plan, but we must always remember that the Lord directs our steps and that He is ultimately in charge.

Even when things don’t go according to our plan, they still unfold according to His. That means even our mistakes and detours can be woven into His greater purpose for our good.

There is such peace in knowing that nothing about our lives takes God by surprise. Every step, every turn, every season—He already has it covered.

As we end today’s blog, I leave you with the prayer of Paul in Colossians 1:9 (TPT):

ā€œSince we first heard about you, we’ve kept you always in our prayers that you would receive the perfect knowledge of God’s pleasure over your lives, making you reservoirs of every kind of wisdom and spiritual understanding.ā€

Thank you for joining me today! 😊

I’d love to hear how Proverbs 20 spoke to you—share your thoughts or reflections in the comments below so we can grow together.

šŸ“Here are some reflection Questions

  1. What are you currently ā€œfilling your wellā€ with? How can you make more space for God’s Word?
  2. When was the last time you wanted to ā€œget evenā€? How can you respond differently by extending grace?
  3. Do you struggle with surrendering your plans to God? What would trusting Him step by step look like for you?
  4. How does knowing that nothing takes God by surprise bring you peace in your current season?

Proverbs 18 – Safety in the tower

Good day everyone, and welcome back to another time of blogging through the book of Proverbs! 😊 First, let me apologize for the break last week—thank you for your patience.

Today we’re diving into Proverbs 18, and while this chapter is packed with wisdom, I’ll be focusing on verse 10:

I love this verse because it reminds me of the incredible power in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Philippians 2: 9-11 tells us that God has given Him a name above every name, and that at the mention of His name every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that He is Lord. The name of Jesus is not just an ordinary name—it carries power. It is a name that heals, saves, delivers, and brings peace. All we need to do is call on His name.

But here’s something important: for the name of Jesus to truly work in your life, you need a relationship with Him. Think of it like this—being connected to an influential parent or a well-known figure can open doors for you because of the relationship. In the same way, having a relationship with God allows you to access the power in His name. That’s why the verse says ā€œthe godlyā€ run to Him and are safe—not just anyone.

So, if you’re weary, burdened, or in need of help, run to Jesus. His arms are always open to receive you, and there is safety in Him. Jesus Himself invites us in Matthew 11:28–30:

This doesn’t mean life will be challenge-free, but it does mean you’ll have peace and assurance knowing you’re not walking alone—God is with you, guiding and strengthening you.

So today, if you haven’t yet turned to Him, make that choice. Call on the name of Jesus, and He will save you. There is safety, strength, and hope in His name.

Thanks for joining me today 😊 and if this post encouraged you, share it with someone else who might need the reminder that there is safety in the name of Jesus. Together, let’s keep running to Him—He is our strong tower.
