Exodus 37 -39: If you love me….

Good evening y’all. Happy Mid Week 🙂

We are almost at the end of the book of Exodus 🙂

We will be starting the book of Matthew on Monday… yaaay 🙂 . I’m looking forward to what God will be teaching us in this book.

Today I’m doing a summary of Exodus 37, 38 and 39.

Be blessed 🙂

In these chapters, Moses recounts to us that they built the tabernacle following, precisely, the instructions given by God. They just didn’t build the Tabernacle as they wished. It was crucial that they obeyed and created just what God instructed. God specifically told him in chapter 25 that He had to build the tabernacle according to the pattern he had been shown.

“You must build this Tabernacle and its furnishings exactly according to the pattern I will show you”.(Exodus 25:9 NLT)

In chapter 39 we see that they did everything according to how God told them. This was reiterated twice in chapter 39. Once in verse 32 and again in verse 42. Moses wanted us to know the importance of obeying God’s instruction(s) and following His direction.

“Thus all the work of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting was finished. And the children of Israel did according to all that the Lord had commanded Moses; so they did”. (Exodus 39:32 NKJV)

“According to all that the Lord had commanded Moses, so the children of Israel did all the work. Then Moses looked over all the work, and indeed they had done it; as the Lord had commanded, just so they had done it. And Moses blessed them”. (Exodus 39:42-43 NKJV)

Same with us. It is very important that we obey God fully not just partially.God desires full obedience. I’m reminded of King Saul. God instructed him to completely destroy the Amalekites but instead he partially obeyed God and in the end the throne was taken from him and given to David.

“One day Samuel said to Saul, “It was the Lord who told me to anoint you as king of his people, Israel. Now listen to this message from the Lord! This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies has declared: I have decided to settle accounts with the nation of Amalek for opposing Israel when they came from Egypt. Now go and completely destroy the entire Amalekite nation—men, women, children, babies, cattle, sheep, goats, camels, and donkeys.” (1 Samuel 15:1-3)

“Then Saul slaughtered the Amalekites from Havilah all the way to Shur, east of Egypt. He captured Agag, the Amalekite king, but completely destroyed everyone else. Saul and his men spared Agag’s life and kept the best of the sheep and goats, the cattle, the fat calves, and the lambs—everything, in fact, that appealed to them. They destroyed only what was worthless or of poor quality.(1 Samuel 15:7-9)

“But I did obey the Lord,” Saul insisted. “I carried out the mission he gave me. I brought back King Agag, but I destroyed everyone else. Then my troops brought in the best of the sheep, goats, cattle, and plunder to sacrifice to the Lord your God in Gilgal.” But Samuel replied, “What is more pleasing to the Lord: your burnt offerings and sacrifices or your obedience to his voice? Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice, and submission is better than offering the fat of rams. Rebellion is as sinful as witchcraft, and stubbornness as bad as worshiping idols. So because you have rejected the command of the Lord, he has rejected you as king.” (1 Samuel 15:20-23)

Obedience is a sign of our Love for God. we can’t say we love Him and then don’t obey His commands. Jesus in John 14:15 said: “If you love me, obey my commandments”

Isaiah 1:19 says “If you are willing and obedient,You shall eat the good of the land”.

Our obedience to God is more for our benefit than for God’s. Whether we obey or not doesn’t change who God is or His standards.

I pray that disobedience will not cost us our destiny; that God will give us the grace to be willing to obey him fully at all times in Jesus Name. Amen

Thanks for joining today.

Have a blessed evening 🙂

Exodus 26 and 27 – Pay attention to details

Good Morning y’all. Today I’m gonna do a summary of what I feel God has laid in my heart regarding Exodus 26 and 27.

Be blessed 🙂

God pays attention to details as evident from all the instructions He gave Moses. He gave the instructions to the nth degree. He dotted every ‘i’ and crossed every ‘t’. He wasn’t ambiguous, He was very specific on the length, size, height and even colour of the materials to be used for the tent.

In the same way, God expects us to fully obey all the instructions He has given us. He expects us to pay attention to the details. Don’t just gloss over and think it’s not important. “I can obey the bits that I want”: No, that’s not what God requires. He specifically said to Moses: make sure you do this as I have shown you or told you or you have seen on the mountain.

“…Build it just as you were shown on the mountain”.(Exodus 27:8 NLT)

“Set up this Tabernacle according to the pattern you were shown on the mountain”.(Exodus 26:30 NLT)

I believe we ought to look inward and ask ourselves: am I paying attention to detail in my obedience to God or am I just doing the bits that are convenient and hoping that God wont mind about the other bits I  haven’t fully satisfied? Let’s humble ourselves today and ask the Holy Spirit for help.

Prayer:
Dear Lord we thank you for today. We thank you for your word that has come forth.  We pray You help us obey You fully and not partially. Help us to pay attention to details. Thank you Lord. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Thanks for joining today.
