Proverbs 20 – What is filling your well?

Good day everyone, and welcome back to our journey through the book of Proverbs! 😊
Today we’re diving into Proverbs 20. I’ll be focusing on verses 5, 22, and 24. My prayer is that as we reflect together, God’s Word will bring encouragement, guidance, and fresh revelation for your daily walk.

🧭 Proverbs 20:5 (TPT)

You can only give what you carry inside. If your heart is filled with negativity or bitterness, that’s what will flow out. But if you are full of God’s wisdom and truth, then what you give to others will be life-giving.

An empty well can’t refresh anyone. That’s why it’s so important to fill ourselves daily with God’s Word. When we do, we’ll always have a rich reservoir to draw from—ready to encourage, guide, and bless others.

💖 Proverbs 20:22 (TPT)

I love this reminder to let God handle vengeance. Our natural instinct is to react when wronged, but this verse urges us to respond with grace.

When we show mercy to others, even when it feels undeserved, we leave room for God to act on our behalf. Choosing kindness over retaliation is not weakness; it’s strength rooted in trust.

Today, let’s make a choice: instead of responding in anger, let’s respond in love. Extend mercy, and watch God fight our battles for us.

🌿 Proverbs 20:24 (TPT)

What a comforting truth—God is in charge of our lives. Yes, it’s wise to plan, but we must always remember that the Lord directs our steps and that He is ultimately in charge.

Even when things don’t go according to our plan, they still unfold according to His. That means even our mistakes and detours can be woven into His greater purpose for our good.

There is such peace in knowing that nothing about our lives takes God by surprise. Every step, every turn, every season—He already has it covered.

As we end today’s blog, I leave you with the prayer of Paul in Colossians 1:9 (TPT):

“Since we first heard about you, we’ve kept you always in our prayers that you would receive the perfect knowledge of God’s pleasure over your lives, making you reservoirs of every kind of wisdom and spiritual understanding.”

Thank you for joining me today! 😊

I’d love to hear how Proverbs 20 spoke to you—share your thoughts or reflections in the comments below so we can grow together.

📝Here are some reflection Questions

  1. What are you currently “filling your well” with? How can you make more space for God’s Word?
  2. When was the last time you wanted to “get even”? How can you respond differently by extending grace?
  3. Do you struggle with surrendering your plans to God? What would trusting Him step by step look like for you?
  4. How does knowing that nothing takes God by surprise bring you peace in your current season?

Acts 27 & 28 – God is able…

Acts 27

I love verses 23 – 25. God reassured Paul that he won’t die and the people with him on the boat.

“For last night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve stood beside me, and he said, ‘Don’t be afraid, Paul, for you will surely stand trial before Caesar! What’s more, God in his goodness has granted safety to everyone sailing with you.’ So take courage! For I believe God. It will be just as he said”. (Acts 27:23-25 NLT)

God is not a man that He should lie, if He has said it, then He surely will do it (Num 23:19).

Isaiah 55: 11 says “It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it”. (NLT)

Paul was so confident that God is able to do what He has said He would do. He didn’t doubt at all. Infact he was very calm in the midst of the storm. He maintained his peace to the point that he was asking the crew to eat and stop worrying. He knew God can’t fail or go back on His word. That gave him the boldness and confidence he needed to endure the storm.

Friends, pls don’t let the circumstance you are in now rob you of your peace.  Hold onto God’s word about the situation and let it encourage you to keep going.

Philippians 4: 6- 7 tells us to not be anxious about anything…and the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. I believe Paul was living out this verse in this chapter.

Acts 28

God told Paul that he would testify of him in Rome in chapter 23 and that’s exactly what happened in this chapter. The word that was spoken was fulfilled 🙂

“The following night the Lord stood near Paul and said, “Take courage! As you have testified about me in Jerusalem, so you must also testify in Rome.” (Acts 23:11 NIV)

I am so encouraged by chapter 27 and 28. I’m excited that God keeps His word. If we do our part, we can be rest assured that God will definitely do His part.

What has God promised you? Friends hold onto it, even if it feels highly impossible to you. With man it might be impossible, but with God all things are possible (Luke 1:37).

Psalm 27:14 says:
“Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!” (NKJV)

Be encouraged today, God is able to do what He said He will do. Keep trusting, praising and praying 🙂

Have a blessed evening basking in Gods goodness and glory 🙂
